Sentinel Colorado, republishing a Chalkbeat report, says Colorado officials plan third-party audits of Education reEnvisioned Board of Cooperative Educational Services, known as ERBOCES, and Colorado Homeschool Enrichment. The plan is part of an agreement between the Colorado Department of Education and School District 49, ERBOCES’ fiscal agent, as ERBOCES is dissolved.
The ERBOCES audit is intended to review its finances and assets. A separate forensic audit and investigation would examine funding provided to and used by Colorado Homeschool Enrichment during the 2024-25 and 2025-26 school years, along with activity this year. The agreement says the audits would be paid from ERBOCES reserves.
