NEWS BRIEF
Colorado Public Radio reports that a little more than 9% of Colorado ballots had been returned two weeks before the midterm election. State voter-file data reviewed by CPR showed return rates of nearly 13% among Democratic voters, 10% among Republicans and about 7.5% among unaffiliated voters. Older voters were returning ballots at higher rates than younger voters. CPR noted that earlier ballot mailing this year makes comparisons with the 2022 midterm election uncertain.
What to know
Early ballot-return figures show Democrats returning ballots at the highest rate, but the data does not show how anyone voted. Earlier ballot mailing may affect comparisons with prior election turnout, according to Colorado Public Radio.
