North Forty News reports that 9th Avenue between 11th and 12th streets near St. Peter’s Catholic Church is closing for several months as part of Greeley’s Downtown Infrastructure Improvements Project. Crews will build new underground stormwater structures on-site because of limited space and the size of the components. Other nearby street and intersection closures are also planned or continuing. Businesses, sidewalks and pedestrian access are expected to remain open, while some parking may be temporarily unavailable.
What to know
The 9th Avenue closure is part of a broader downtown project replacing older water, sewer and stormwater systems. Construction timing may change with weather, and Transit Route 4 and Stop 287 have a detour through early October.
