BAE Systems Weld County facility expansion

NEWS BRIEF

The Denver Gazette reports that BAE Systems purchased a 130,000-square-foot production facility in Weld County for expanded operations. The company plans to hire more than 200 employees over the next 12 to 24 months and expects the site to provide about 600 jobs at full capacity.

The Colorado Economic Development Commission approved potential performance-based job-growth tax credits, contingent on net new job creation and salary requirements. BAE Systems plans to equip and overhaul the facility through the end of 2026, with production slated to begin in early 2028. The facility address was not listed.

What to know

BAE Systems’ Weld County facility is planned for space-based hardware and sensor-system manufacturing. Hiring, incentive payments and the projected job totals remain tied to the company’s plans and applicable performance requirements.
