The Denver Gazette reports that Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold’s office marked 12,693 business entities in the state registry as fraudulent over the past month. The office said 20,500 entities have been identified as fraudulent since February 2023.
According to the report, HB26-1088 took effect Aug. 12 and allows the secretary of state to pursue entities that list another previously identified fraudulent entity as their registered agent. The article also reports that 10,214 listings were dropped after filing payments were not credited by banks.
