NEWS BRIEF

Denver7 reports that Ballot Issue 7A was included on more ballots than intended in parts of Adams, Arapahoe, Douglas and Weld counties. The measure concerns taxes for the Front Range Passenger Rail District’s proposed Colorado Connector train line.

The Colorado Department of State and county clerks are developing guidance after updated district boundaries were not adequately communicated following a 2026 law change. Officials said eligible voters’ votes in the contest will be counted, while Douglas County voters were advised to complete and return the ballots they received.

What to know

Ballot Issue 7A appeared on some voters’ ballots outside the updated rail district boundaries. State and county election officials are working on administration guidance; officials say only eligible votes in the 7A contest will be counted.
