NEWS BRIEF

Colorado Public Radio reports that about 800,000 ballots in northern Colorado incorrectly include Issue 7A, a sales-tax measure intended to support the proposed Front Range Passenger Rail service between Pueblo and Fort Collins.

The error affects some ballots in Adams, Arapahoe, Douglas and Weld counties. Affected voters should use their ballots as usual, according to the Secretary of State’s office, which said only residents of the rail district will have votes on the measure counted.

What to know

Some northern Colorado ballots list Issue 7A even though not every recipient is eligible to vote on it. The ballots remain valid for other races and measures, while election officials work to ensure only eligible rail-district votes are counted.
