Greeley City Council agenda item concerning a downtown alley vacation for Justice Center construction

NEWS BRIEF

The Greeley Tribune reports that Greeley City Council is scheduled to consider an order vacating a 20-foot alley in Block 66 downtown. City staff would remove utilities in the alley to facilitate construction of the new Weld County Justice Center.

The alley is generally bounded by 10th and 11th avenues and 9th and 10th streets. The work is described as part of the Downtown Civic Campus, which includes courthouse expansion, a new city hall and a Greeley-Evans District 6 Administration Building.

What to know

The council agenda calls for consideration of an alley vacation, not a completed action. If approved, city staff would remove utilities in the downtown alley to support Justice Center construction.
