Colorado Public Radio reports that Democratic gubernatorial candidate Phil Weiser met with volunteers in Grand Junction as the Mesa County Democrats began door-knocking for the November election. Weiser encouraged canvassers to listen to voters and hold conversations at the door.
The report says Weiser is campaigning on high costs, housing shortages and government efficiency. Republican candidate Victor Marx criticized Weiser’s lawsuits against the Trump administration and said the governor should build relationships with the federal administration. CPR also reported that Marx has declined moderated debates, while Weiser debated unaffiliated candidate Greg Lopez at Colorado Mesa University.
