Colorado Public Radio reports that Robert Chew of Boulder, the Colorado Forward Party’s U.S. Senate nominee, is running against incumbent U.S. Sen. John Hickenlooper and Republican challenger Mark Baisley. Chew said the national debt prompted his independent campaign and reported contributing more than $1 million of his own money.
In responses to CPR’s voter-guide questions, Chew called for keeping the Senate filibuster, restoring a 60-vote threshold for federal judicial nominations and reducing partisan gerrymandering. He also proposed allowing states to determine annual visa-category admissions and linked affordability concerns to government actions, tariffs, regulations and federal debt.
