Lori Garcia Sander

Lori Garcia Sander is a common-sense conservative, former public school teacher and administrator, and lifetime resident of northern Colorado who is ready to help bring balance back to the Colorado state House and take on the far-left Democrats who control the Legislature.

From Lori:

• I’m running because we need someone conservative in the legislature who has actually worked in public schools for the past 25 years. I know from personal experience what the left-wing agenda is, and I also know how to fight it.

• I’m running because I’ve watched too many of my students’ families, teaching colleagues, and friends struggle to afford to live in Colorado. I will ensure TABOR remains in place and also work toward a practical fix to the extraordinary increases in property taxes.

• I’m running because I’m concerned about increasing crime rates in Colorado that current policies aren’t addressing to ensure safety of our citizens and families. I will work to ensure that our 2nd amendment right is preserved and law-abiding citizens’ rights are prioritized over criminals’.

• I’m running because I see the effects of the Democrat policies have on agriculture and oil & gas, two of the largest revenue-creating industries in Colorado. I will push back on unnecessary regulations and prioritize local governments’ rights to make decisions in the best interest of their constituents.

• My life has been dedicated to helping people and making my community the best it can be.

Lori has worked with a wide range of personalities over the years as a teacher and school administrator, and she has a broad background of people-skills and work and life experiences that she’ll take to the State House. She knows how important it is to build relationships to bring people to “her side” in order to attain goals. She also knows that it’s important to be a Servant Leader who listens to everyone even when she disagrees, and she’ll work to find win-win solutions for the benefit of all Coloradans. Being heard comes down to cultivating relationships, building coalitions, and finding every way we can to move the needle to the right. This can all be done WITHOUT compromising conservative principles and values.

Lori believes God puts us in a certain place for a certain amount of time to do a certain job and when our mission is done, He moves us on to a new mission. For 25 years, her mission was to serve our communities in Weld and Larimer counties as a teacher and school leader and to keep the crazy at the schoolhouse door. She helped children learn how to read, write, do math, how to treat each other and to regulate their behavior. She made a difference.

Her mission has changed now.

She’s not just looking for a job at the State House; she’s looking to make a difference in state policy.

Lori was raised in LaSalle, Colorado with one older brother and two younger sisters and she attended Valley RE-1 schools K-12. Her dad was a union carpenter in Denver and mom was a homemaker. She worked at a bank and traveled through Asia and Europe during her college years and then started her career in teaching and administration in Weld and Larimer counties. Lori is a proud public-school educator having taught Kindergarten through 12th grades (classroom and English as a Second Language) at different times in her teaching career. Additionally, she’s been an administrator at the elementary school and district levels, and she’s supervised student teachers throughout her career. She married her husband Will in 2005, and they live in Eaton where they have a 198-tree apple orchard. During good crop years, they sell apples at the local farmer’s market. Will retired from teaching 8 years ago and has a small business selling vintage auto parts. Lori and Will also own property in Red Feather Lakes that they lease for cattle grazing. They love traveling in their vintage cars and Airstream trailers with their two dogs, Angus and Harriet.

Perry Buck – Commissioner at Large

Commissioner Perry Buck is a third-generation Weld County native. She learned the importance of community service from her father who served Weld County as both a county commissioner and state representative.

In 1984, Perry graduated from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, with a degree in English. She did her graduate work in accounting at Ft. Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.

Perry is and has been involved in many civic organizations including Rotary, United Way of Weld County, Weld County Partners, Senior Resource Services, Habitat for Humanity, Board of Northern Colorado Legislative Alliance, Greeley Chamber of Commerce, Pro 15 and the Weld County Republican Party. She attends Generations Church.

In 1999, Perry was appointed by Governor Owens as the Northeast Business Development Representative for the Colorado Office of Economic Development. She helped facilitate economic development in the rural communities from Jackson and Grand counties in the west to Phillips and Sedgwick counties in the northeast, down to Cheyenne, Lincoln, and Elbert counties.

Perry served four years as Secretary for the State GOP and then four years as the Vice-Chair of the State Republican Party. Before that, she was the Weld County GOP Chair. She also served as President of the Colorado Federation of Republican Women from 2012 to 2014.

Perry was elected in 2006 for the Weld County Council At-Large, in 2010, Perry was re-elected in Weld County for County Council at-Large.

In November of 2012, Perry was elected Representative for House District 49, where she served four terms. She was elected Minority Whip by her peers. During those eight years she was rated by Colorado Union of Taxpayers, Principals of Liberty, Republican Liberty Caucus, Americans for Prosperity as one of the most conservative of the Republican caucus. She is proud to be pro-life and supports the second amendment. She has her concealed weapons permit.

In November of 2020 Perry was elected for Weld County Commissioner – At Large. She currently serves as Chairman Pro-tem of the board.

Perry lives in Greeley, Colorado, and enjoys gardening, sports, reading, and fighting for Conservative principles.

Dusty Johnson

Dusty Johnson is from Fort Morgan, where she grew up raising goats and playing soccer. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, with a focus on agriculture and water, from Regis University.

Dusty’s passion for agriculture and rural communities has been deeply rooted in her character from her upbringing in 4H and FFA, and is continually strengthened as she engages with agricultural groups and works towards bridging the rural-urban divide through policy and educational outreach. She is an eastern plains girl at heart and will do everything she can to preserve and protect our rural way of living.

Dusty has over 7 years of experience in the political sector, as she has worked as a staffer and legislative aide for a U.S. Congressman and three State Senators. In addition to her work in the legislative branch, she is also the former Morgan County Republican Chairman and former Senate District 1 GOP Chairman.

Dusty is an alumnus of the Colorado Agricultural Leadership Program and is currently going through the Leadership Program of the Rockies. She was recognized as one of the 2022 Logan & Morgan County 10 Under 40 recipients.

Carlos Barron – House District 48

I am Carlos Barron, I Born in Salamanca, Guanajuato Mexico in 1985. I immigrated from Mexico with my parents when I was just over 1 year old, we lived in Fort Lupton, CO for one year when we came and then moved to Kit Carson, CO for the next 3 years because my father got a job opportunity there in the oil & gas industry. We then moved back to Fort Lupton when I was 5 and have been living here since. I graduated from Fort Lupton high school in 2004 and attended College at Johnson & Wales University Denver for 2 years studying Buisness Management and transferred to Metro State University Denver for 1 1/2 Years. I then started to work full time in my dads oil & gas services company and now i am the GM/partner for his company. I married my beautiful wife Carla Barron in July 2011 and had our first child Santiago Barron in August of 2013. We now have three children, Santiago, Lucia and Camila Barron and continue to live in Fort Lupton. My wife and I have started two businesses together, the first is a business management/Consulting company and the other is a home rental company. I was appointed to the City of Fort Lupton Planning Commission for 2 years. I then ran for city council in Fort Lupton and was elected to a 4 year term in 2021 which I am currently in my third year of my first term.

I am ready to take my work ethic and conservative values to the Capitol to represent the people of State House District 48. I stand with energy independence with our oil & gas industry and agriculture community. I am pro 2nd amendment and strive to protect our parental rights. I support our brave men and women of our armed forces and our police force protecting us here at home.
