A Long Day in Colorado Springs… But We Won Like Weld.
Saturday was a long one.
We arrived at Radiant Church in Colorado Springs bright and early for the Colorado GOP Reorganization Meeting. The meeting officially kicked off at 9:00 AM. It didn’t wrap until after 6:30 PM. It was a full day of speeches, ballots, rule challenges, and debate — but Weld County showed up, stood tall, and made sure our voices were heard.
And we did it in style — proudly wearing our red “Win Like Weld” shirts.

Out of Weld’s 35 votes on the State Central Committee, every single one was represented. 31 of us made the trip down in person, while 4 joined via Zoom.
After a crowded first round of voting for State Party Chair, the field narrowed to a two-way runoff between Brita Horn and former Weld County Commissioner Lori Saine. On the second ballot, Brita Horn was elected with 53% of the vote (232–203).
Also elected were:
- Vice Chair: Darell Lee Phelan
- Secretary: Russ Andrews
We congratulate the new leadership team and remain focused on our mission: keeping Weld County red, expanding our grassroots, and winning elections in 2026.
We’re proud of the way our Weld team showed up — early, organized, unified, and engaged. Saturday was proof that when others play games, we play to win.
Let’s keep it going.
Let’s keep winning like Weld.
