Article VI, Section 8 of the Weld County Republican Central Committee bylaws says, “The District Captains, or their valid proxy, (pursuant to the proxy qualifications as set forth in Article X), shall attend all Central Committee and Executive Committee meetings. They shall assist the committee people in their district by coordinating party activities and shall perform all other duties assigned to them by the County Chairman or the Executive Committee. Any registered Republican residing in his district may be elected District Captain, but no one may have more than one vote in the Weld County Republican Central Committee because he may be a District Captain.

A District Captain shall not openly support a candidate from another political party without first resigning their position. The Executive Committee may remove, by two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of those present at a regularly scheduled meeting, such District Captain that refuses to resign.”
