Assembly is where delegates (elected at caucus) take the next steps in party business and, for all offices, vote to designate candidates for the Republican primary ballot.

County Assembly (Greeley • Saturday, March 21 • 9:00 AM)
The Weld County Republican County Assembly will take place at:
Northridge High School
7001 Grizzly Dr
Greeley, CO 80634
County Assembly is where delegates elected at Precinct Caucus to the County Assembly gather to nominate (designate) Republican candidates for certain county offices and other eligible contests.
Only delegates and alternates elected through the caucus process are eligible to participate in County Assembly voting.
2026 Weld County offices up for election (nominated at County Assembly)
- Weld County Commissioner At-Large
- Weld County Commissioner District 2
- Weld County Clerk and Recorder
- Weld County Sheriff
- Weld County Assessor
- House District 50 (HD50 residents only — held at County Assembly because HD50 is entirely within Weld County)
How candidates qualify for the June Primary ballot
- To be designated by assembly onto the primary ballot, a candidate generally must receive at least 30% of the votes cast at the relevant assembly.
- Ballot order: Candidates designated by assembly are placed on the primary ballot in the order of the vote received at the assembly (highest vote-getter listed first).
Petition option (instead of caucus/assembly)
Candidates may also choose to petition onto the ballot rather than seek assembly designation. Colorado’s Secretary of State provides a separate petition process and deadlines.
A key rule to know if someone tries to do both:
- If a candidate fails to receive at least 10% of the votes cast at the party assembly for that office, they are not eligible to run by petition for the same party/office.
Candidate Notification Requirement
Candidates seeking to qualify for the 2026 Republican Primary ballot through the County Assembly must formally notify the Weld County Republican Party of their intent no later than 30 days prior to County Assembly.
Deadline to notify the county party:
Thursday, February 19, 2026
State & other assemblies (House District, Senate District, Congressional District, etc.)
These assemblies are where delegates nominate/designate candidates for their respective districts and offices (for example, congressional and legislative seats that span multiple counties).
State Assembly (statewide offices)
The Colorado Republican State Assembly & Convention will convene at 9:00 AM on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Massari Arena on the campus of Colorado State University Pueblo.
Check-in & credentialing: Begins at 7:00 AM
At the State Assembly, delegates will:
- Nominate Republican candidates for Governor, U.S. Senate, Attorney General, Secretary of State, and State Treasurer
- Consider and adopt the Colorado Republican Party Platform
- Conduct official business of the Colorado Republican Party
Weld County has been allocated 196 delegates to the State Assembly. That gives Weld County a strong voice — but only if we show up. We strongly encourage Republicans to attend caucus and consider serving as a delegate so our county can exercise its full voting strength at the state level.
The State Assembly will also rely on volunteers to help ensure a smooth and successful event. Opportunities will be available in areas such as:
- Program & agenda support
- Logistics and operations
- Communications
- Technology & A/V
- Volunteer coordination
If you’re able to volunteer to help with the state assembly, you can sign up here:

Important note:
There is typically a badge fee to attend State Assembly. This fee is set by the state party and varies by year. In past cycles, it has generally ranged from $50–$100. Final pricing will be announced once State Assembly details are released.

In this case, both Republicans are offered the same resources from the party.
Weld County Republican Party Caucus is Saturday, March 7, 2026
Primary Election Day is Tuesday, June 30, 2026
General Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
